The Game Awards ya tiene sus candidatos a juego del año, y Sony volvió a arrasar en 2020.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, DOOM Eternal, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Ghost of Tsushima, Hades y The Last of Us Part II competirán el próximo 10 de diciembre por el máximo galardón en el evento, se que transmitirá en todo el mundo a través de una variedad de plataformas digitales, como Twitch y YouTube.

Como viene siendo la norma durante los últimos años, PlayStation arrasó en las nominaciones: tres de los seis candidatos (The Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima y Final Fantasy VII Remake) son exclusividades de la consola de Sony, y están entre los juegos con más nominaciones de este año.

The Last of Us Part II lideró la lista con 10 nominaciones (Mejor Juego, Dirección, Dirección de Arte, Narrativa, Banda de Sonido, Innovación, Juego de Acción y Aventura, y Mejor Actuación), Ghost of Tsushima acumuló siete, y Final Fantasy VII Remake se quedó con seis.

Fuera de esos tanques, la gran sorpresa es Hades, el nuevo juego del estudio independiente Supergiant Games, un roguelike de acción con una dirección de arte exquisita y un sistema de combate pulido al extremo.

Hades no solo se coló entre juegos a cargo de equipos de cientos de desarrolladores, sino que quedó segundo en materia de nominaciones con ocho en total, que incluyen mejor narrativa, música y dirección de arte.

Otras sorpresas incluyen la ausencia de Half-Life: Alyx, el esperadísimo regreso de la serie de Valve, entre los nominados a mejor juego del año; y la inclusión de Among Us, un juego lanzado originalmente en 2018, entre los mejores juegos para dispositivos móviles de este 2020.

Argentina también tendrá su representante en el evento, porque el compositor Gustavo Santaolalla está nominado por su trabajo en la banda de sonido de The Last of Us Part II.
